Alicia is an artist who uses creative writing, design methodologies, and multisensory media to create narrative pieces and 3-dimensional installations. Her multidisciplinary approach took roots at Stanford University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Product Design Engineering in 2015. Following brief forays into prop design, graphic design, and a successful Kickstarter campaign, she landed a role at Apple as an Engineering Program Manager. For 5 years, Alicia led product development for Apple Watch Bands, coordinating with disciplines from design to operations and managing vendors across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Deep dives into soft-goods manufacturing fed a burgeoning interest in material science; Alicia saw poetry in developing the strongest structures with the lightest fibers. At the peak of her curiosity, she moved to Italy to pursue a Master’s degree in Sustainable Textile Design. There, advances in material technology contrasted strongly with humanity’s ancient relationship with fabrics — what is the purpose of making textiles? And how does the identity of an individual versus a company shape what is created? She explored these questions in her 60-page thesis, supplementing her writing with a fiber art installation to showcase the connections between physical outputs and psychological processes. Following graduation, Alicia returned to the U.S. and moved to Brooklyn, New York in 2023.

Today, Alicia’s strong technical foundation and diverse experiences give her a wide range of creative flexibility. Her current work explores metaphysical themes such as identity, perception, and meaning, and takes form in poetry and audio-visual sculptures. When she’s not working on her first chapbook or designing music based on weaving patterns, you can find her watching a whale documentary and watering her plants.
